Francesca Battistelli has released “Own It” through Curb | Word Entertainment and all songs are now loaded into WorshipTeam.com “Own It” is a recording of some great new songs.
Fans have been waiting for a long time for new music from Battistelli. Many instantly responded to “The BreakupSong,” calling the anthemic tune that sings about breaking up with fear “uplifting, hope-inspiring and empowering,” with one fan even writing, “Halfway through my first time hearing it I purchased the song. [It was] so timely in my life. Thank you for this freedom from fear theme song of the year (and for life)!” Battistelli has also been waiting a long time to share these new songs, recently sharing that she had new songs ready for an album two years ago. Yet so much changed during that time, it would’ve been a completely different project than the declarative progressive pop songs comprised on Own It.
“I thought I had a handle on what this album was going to be, but my husband and I prayed before every songwriting session and God gave me a completely different set of songs than I was expecting,” Battistelli exclaims. “These songs are so life-giving-so empowering. What they represent to me is my desire to own my identity in Christ, to own the fact that I belong, that I’m royalty. I am to own my identity and kick fear out of my life, to own the opportunities in front of me that could change everything, to own the present moment and not live in the past or even the future. I am also town the fact that I’m worth the very best because I am a child of God. Right now I’m in a season in my life where I’m walking in more authority and who the Lord has made me to be. I’m tired of walking in half of what God’s given me. I want to walk in all of it. I want to own it!”
