The Neverclaim/Radiate Records album “Encounter” on WorshipTeam

Acclaimed pop/rock/worship band The Neverclaim releases its first full-length live worship album, Encounter: A Live Worship Experience, Sept. 30 from Radiate Music. Recorded live at the Franklin, TN-based Vineyard Church just outside of Nashville, the album was produced by the band’s Jeremiah Carlson (lead vocals), Mitchell Maldonado (guitar/keys), Chuck Hill (bass) and Beji George (drums), and expresses the band’s story of being broken people who are now a testimony to the extravagant love, grace and goodness of God.

Encounter finds The Neverclaim reconnecting with their roots as a worship band and during a season where they are heavily investing into the local church. Carlson is the Young Adult Pastor at Vineyard Boise where Maldonado is Director of Media Production, George is at a Houston Vineyard church, and Hill is part of a Vineyard church plant in Bloomington, IL.

“Every story of hope in a desperate situation starts with an encounter with Jesus,” shares Carlson, underscoring the passion for this project. “He alone holds the power to break off chains of fear, shame, anxiety and depression. He alone can redefine who we truly were made to be. He can take all the brokenness from our past and turn it into something beautiful.”

Framing the overarching theme of the album, the anthemic title track gives worshippers language to call on God to intervene. “Through a simple encounter with Jesus, everything changes,” says Carlson. “No matter what kind of life people have lived when they encounter Jesus, they are wrecked for anything else but Him.”

The song “Testimony” on the album is the natural progression of an encounter with God, and is a collective shout of praise for Christ’s redeeming work, while “Through Christ,” first featured on The Neverclaim’s 2015 album, The Joy, comes from a very personal experience in Carlson’s story. Born out of an extramarital affair and sexually abused as a child, Carlson says he experienced anxiety, self-hatred and was suicidal. Dove Award nominated Planetshakers Band will release their new album, Overflow, September 30 to the worldwide market through Integrity Music. The project was recorded at the Planetshakers annual spring conference in Melbourne, Australia and features 15 new songs that were co-written by the band and produced by worship leader Joth Hunt. Planetshakers will also release a deluxe edition of the project that includes seven music videos from songs on the album, including a live version of the radio single “I Know Who You Are,” which is already receiving airplay in the U.S.

“Overflow captures a week of ‘God-moments’ that were recorded live from the 2016 Planetshakers Conference,” explains Planetshakers Church Senior Pastor Russell Evans. “It was an incredible experience. On the one hand, there may have been 15,000 registered attendees singing praise anthems such as ‘River’ and ‘Come Right Now’… then on the other hand, there were such intimate worship moments that it felt like it was just you and Jesus in the room. Elevation Worship is the group name given to a series of album releases related to the Elevation Church located in Charlotte, North Carolina. The church was formed by Pastor Steven Furtick in early 2006 with the first Elevation Worship release, Live Worship, following soon after. Two more albums, We Are Alive (2008) and Kingdom Come (2010) would arrive via the Essential Worship label. In 2011, they signed with the major-label Sony and released For the Honor that same year. A four-song EP, Nothing Is Wasted, appeared in 2012, with a full-length album of the same title appearing early in 2013. The following year, they released two albums: Only King Forever almost broke the Billboard Top 20, while Wake Up the Wonder marked their first live performance in a large arena, going from a 1,000 member church audience to a 16,000 crowd. In 2016, Elevation had their greatest success yet, releasing another live album, Here As In Heaven, which debuted at the top of the Billboard Christian chart and broke into the Top 20. Recorded in July 2015 at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, Here As In Heaven saw Elevation playing to a maximum capacity crowd of over 20,000 worshippers.
