Swing Wide’ is the first single from Vineyard Worship’s upcoming EP, House Of The Lord.

This song was written by Jon Solway, Langa Mbonambi & Inez Tjokro, at a global songwriters gathering. Their desire was to write a joyful, welcoming song that would work in a local church.

They focussed on the theme of welcoming Jesus into our gatherings and our lives, inspired both by Psalm 24 and the triumphal entry that we celebrate at Palm Sunday (Matthew 21) – the joy and expectation that they must have felt as Jesus rode into Jerusalem, the joy we can experience as Jesus continues to ‘enter in’ to our world, and the expectation we have when Jesus will come again.

Recorded with a live audience in St. Albans, this song is jam packed with energy, joy, exuberance and hope.

“So often we can be tempted to come into God’s presence with an agenda – with a prayer we want answered, or a situation we want changing. This song is a simple prayer to God, inviting him to do whatever is in his heart and positioning ourselves to wait on him, with expectant hearts. Whatever he wants to do – we’re up for it!

We love that this song has echoes of scripture: that we seek first his Kingdom before seeking our own agenda (Matthew 6:31), that we hunger and thirst for God’s presence (Psalm 63), and that we want to create space to wait on God for him to move among us (Lamentations 3:24-26).”
